Laser Skin Care
The formation of new collagen results in decreased fine lines and the repair of sun damage. Typically the skin looks like the patient remembers it from 10 or 15 years ago. The results are gradual and cumulative, so that there is no startling change in the appearance of your face. Other people will likely remark that you appear revitalized and more youthful, but will not know why!
1. Redness (erythema) of the face, neck, or chest:
Photorejuvenation will provide a noticeable reduction in erythema.
2. Flushing:
Photorejuvenation is the only treatment which is effective to reduce flushing.
3. Rosacea:
Photorejuvenation is probably the most effective treatment for inflammatory rosacea.
4. Sun Damage:
Photorejuvenation improves irregular pigmentation, fine wrinkling, and freckling from chronic sun exposure.
5. Pigmentation Problems:
Melasma and brown spots can fade with photorejuvenation treatments.
6. Ruddy skin with large pores:
Patients with this type of skin experience a smoother complexion after a series of photorejuvenation treatments.
7. Age spots on hands and limbs:
These areas can also be rejuvenated with the photorejuvenation protocol.
8. Inflammatory acne scarring:
Photorejuvenation treatments can help reduce the erythema and dark pigmentation of acne scarring.
9. Skin refreshening treatment:
People without erythema or significant sun damage will experience a softer, smoother complexion after photorejuvenation treatments.
10. Post-laser resurfacing:
People who have had C02 laser resurfacing are sometime left with undesirable redness; this erythema can be treated with photorejuvenation.
11. Patients undergoing a facelift procedure:
For patients who are contemplating facelift surgery, photorejuvenation can improve the quality of their skin before or after the facelift surgery, reducing visible capillaries and brown spots, leading to more satisfactory result. A facelift removes deep wrinkles and sagging skin; it will not remove broken capillaries or brown spots on your cheeks.
12. Botox and Restylane injections can be used in conjunction with photorejuvenation.
The so-called "lunchtime" facelift, consisting of Botox therapy, can be used with microdermabrasion, and photorejuvenation will give the skin a greater improvement in surface irregularities.
How long does it take?
Photofacial takes about 20 minutes to scan the entire face with one pass with the intense pulsed light. Sometimes, the entire face is treated with multiple passes with select parameters at our clinic. Therefore, a comprehensive treatment can take about one hour to complete.
Virtually any adult can have photorejuvenation. Please call our office for a consultation with the doctor. Patients on photosensitizing drugs or certain illnesses may not qualify for this treatment.
