Kim Tomen
Kim
Tomen graduated from the University of Western Ontario with
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1988. She pursued
nursing through research in London, Ontario with Victoria
Hospital, various pharmaceutical companies and Health
Canada. Kim is noted on three studies with Budesonide (Pulmicort)
in the treatment of asthma in adults and children as the
Nurse Clinician/Research.
Kim completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of
Windsor in 1990 and is qualified to teach from Junior
Kindergarten thru Grade 12 Math and Science. Her background
in math and science has given her a unique understanding of
laser technology and is invaluable in the use and care of
the family of laser equipment at Medical Aesthetics.
Kim has received training with the Lightsheer laser for hair
removal and the Vasculight Laser in Toronto, Montreal,
Vancouver, and Virginia over the last three years. Medical
Aesthetics offers four separate and distinct lasers that
treat unwanted hair, pigmentation, veins, aged and
sun-damaged skin, acne, rosacea and pre-cancerous skin
conditions. Kim oversees all procedures and runs the
Vasculight Elite (2004) to treat sun-damage, rosacea and
acne.
Kim Tomen learned to perform chemical peels in Toronto in
2003. Although chemical peeling has become somewhat of a
lost art, Kim and Medical Aesthetics believe it is a
valuable tool in treating acne, sun-damage, fine lines, and
pigmentation. Kim and Mark have the experience to determine
and discriminate between chemical peel and laser as the best
treatment option. Kim performs light peels to stimulate the
skin and give a soft, glowing complexion to deeper peels to
lighten pigmentation and reduce acne scarring.
Kim prides herself on her treatment of acne. She received
training for the use of Levulan and the use of PhotoDynamic
Therapy from the internationally renowned Dr. Martin Braun
in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Braun is known throughout North
America as a developer of Levulan and is a dynamic and
thorough teacher.
Kim Tomen makes the initial consultation with clients
wanting sclerotherapy. She also has trained at the Martin
Vein Clinic in Barrie, Ontario. Kim relies on Medical
Aesthetics' RN, Kelly Jones and MD, Mark Tomen to complete
the procedures.
Medical Aesthetics offers mole, skin tag removal. Kim Tomen
is accomplished at assessing all skin conditions. Dr. Tomen
will consult at any office visit and provides the necessary
means to treat benign and malignant conditions.
Kim Tomen is proud that Medical Aesthetics has accomplished
so much in the two years that they have been open. Medical
Aesthetics took a great deal of planning before opening in
June, 2003. Kim has worked very hard to provide a private,
calm, friendly, supportive and professional atmosphere for
everyone in Chatham-Kent and beyond. |
