Injectible Fillers
Medical Aesthetics uses a variety of dermal fillers to soften facial lines and wrinkles, augment lips, smooth acne scars and contour jaw lines.
Dermal fillers have come a long way in recent years. Even the most temporary of fillers that Medical Aesthetics uses lasts about 8 months. Medical Aesthetics Laser and Skin Clinic is the ONLY clinic in the area to have the EXPERIENCE and EXPERTISE to inject Juvederm, Evolence, Radiesse and Artesense. These products are not new to the Canadian market and clients should seek out a physician with experience injecting these materials. Dr. Tomen performs all the injections and has done so hundreds of times over the last six years.
Juvaderm
Juvederm is a long lasting hyaluronic acid filler used to soften lines and wrinkles around the mouth, nose, chin and forehead. It can also be used to augment lips and fill in acne scars. Juvederm works by pulling in water from the surrounding tissue. Typical results are immediate and last from 8 – 12 months and longer.
Evolence
Evolence is a collagen-based filler that is wonderful to work with because of the smooth and soft results it gives. It is composed of a stable collagen compound that lasts about 12 months. Medical Aesthetics prefers to use Evolence in lip augmentation because of the natural and long-lasting look that can be achieved. Evolence also causes minimal swelling at the time of injection and is perfect for people with busy schedules.
Radiesse
Radiesse is a superb filler for correcting deeper lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose. It forms a “scaffolding” under that skin that firmly supports the tissue above it and provides correction for about 12-15 months. Radiesse is supplied in a larger volume syringe that makes it very cost-effective given the length of time it lasts.
Artesense
Artesense is the “gold standard” of semi-permanent fillers. Many clients have been very happy with Artesense injected under its old name of Artecoll. Artesense works by injecting very small micro spheres into the area to be corrected, and waiting 10-12 weeks for the client’s body to form new collagen around the microspheres. It is the body’s own collagen that gives the 3-5 year results that have made so many people happy!
Lines and wrinkles are of concern to many people. Deep folds and wrinkles are easily treated with the correct selection of dermal fillers. The degree of correction depends on the client’s wishes and on the volume of filler used. Each product is delivered in pre-filled syringes consisting of varying volumes. A consult is always necessary to determine the type and volume of correction required.
