Dr Mark Tomen
Dr. Tomen graduated from the University of Western Ontario Medical School in 1986 and interned at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. After practicing in Toronto and Grand Bend, Ontario, Dr. Tomen returned to his native Chatham-Kent and has been an established General Practitioner in the community for 17 years. He has had experience in many aspects of General Medical Practice including office Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care Medicine (hospital and office), hospital patient care and surgical assisting. He has always been active in treating diseases and conditions of the skin through his family and hospital based practices. This has led to the development of Medical Aesthetics Laser and Skin Clinic.
Dr Tomen is accomplished in the use of Botox for cosmetic use, facial sculpting, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), migraine and tension headache treatment, muscle spasm treatment and the Botox breast lift. He is one of very few injectors in Ontario that has received Advanced Standing from the makers of Botox, Allergan, and is regularly invited to Advanced Workshops and Updates available only to those who have completed the qualification mandates. Dr. Tomen received his initial training in 2002 with Botox in Montreal with the doctor who pioneered the cosmetic use of Botox. Medical Aesthetics uses Botox Cosmetic and Botox Therapeutic in daily practice.
Mark Tomen is also an expert filler injector. Medical Aesthetics uses both temporary (Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm) and permanent (Artecoll and Dermalive) in practice. Dr. Tomen received his training for injectables in 2002 in Toronto and Montreal, and in 2003 in Virginia. He attends update courses on a regular basis and has been asked to demonstrate at these courses.
Medical Aesthetics is proud of the services they offer. Dr. Tomen received sclerotherapy training at the Martin Vein Clinic in 2003 and injects large varicose and reticular veins of the legs, chest and hands. His use of physician-only concentrations of vein solutions compliments Medical Aesthetics treatments of all veins by nurse sclerotherapists.
Mesotherapy is a new procedure to Medical Aesthetics. Dr. Tomen has travelled to Florida and Vancouver in 2004 for mesotherapy training. He is one of the few practitioners in Ontario that has experience in this exciting technique for dissolving areas of unwanted fat.
Dr. Tomen supervises all services offered at Medical Aesthetics. He is available for all consultations and procedures.
